The Morgan Auto Group is proud to announce the arrival of Bennett Acuff as General Counsel to the team. The move sees longtime General Counsel Whit Ellerman move to a role of family advisor. Bennett joins the team after a successful tenure with firm Hill Ward Henderson. Bennett has long worked with the Morgan Auto Group and is familiar with all areas of Dealership compliance and Automotive operation.
From Bennett’s Hill Ward Bio: Bennett is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation group. Bennett has represented a wide array of businesses including residential and commercial property owners and developers, national retailers and manufacturers, healthcare businesses, and automotive dealership groups.
Bennett has experience with contractual disputes, non-compete agreements and he has handled several procurement and bid protests with state and local governments and agencies. Specifically, Bennett has assisted national healthcare companies in procuring public contracts , as well as state agencies in navigating the rule promulgation process. Bennett has also assisted national companies in defending class action and complex litigation.
Outside of the office, Bennett is involved in several charitable endeavors both locally and abroad. Bennett serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County and he has served on the Board of Directors for I Matter Too, a non-profit organization that mentors abused and neglected children in Hillsborough County. Bennett is involved in several professional organizations including the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and Bennett regularly speaks for the Southern Surety & Fidelity Claims Association and the Electronic Discovery Roundtable. Bennett and his wife Sally are supporters of Compassion International, and Bennett has mentored students at BT Washington Elementary School in Ybor City. Bennett, his wife Sally, and their children Mac, Sawyer and Lucy Kate attend South Tampa Fellowship where Bennett and Sally serve in the children’s ministry.
